The useful distinction is between conversion and storage. A tape or reel must first be turned into digital material. A USB drive cannot do that job by itself. • Who will download, label and store the files?
• Are extra physical copies needed, or will relatives receive their own digital copies?
• What happens to access if a paid service is later canceled?

2. Your originals reach the conversion service.
3. You receive and approve the order details.
4. Finished digital material becomes available.
5. Any discs, drives and originals arrive where they are needed.
